“Washi Tape Crafts” by Amy Anderson

Seems everything Amy Anderson touches turns to gold. Not only is she the dynamo behind the popular Mod Podge Rocks blog, but her other blog, Washi Tape Crafts is chock full of fantastic ideas and projects. And I think it would be safe to say that I’m a little bit washi tape obsessed. Here is my current tape organizer, a vintage hardware bin carousel.Cathe-Holden-Washi-Tape-BinOf course collecting washi tape isn’t nearly as fun as crafting with washi tape. I use it in so many ways around my studio in crafts and decor. Lucky for us Amy has designed and compiled from other crafters over 100 wonderful washi tape projects into a chunky little book, Washi Tape Crafts, filled with over 100 step-by-step projects, each with full-color photographs.Cathe-Holden-Washi-Tape-Crafts-Review-01And did you notice?…IT COMES WITH ROLLS OF WASHI TAPE!

Chapters in the book include Tools & Techniques, Goods & Gifts, Home Decor, Jewelry & Fashion, Holidays & Celebrations, and Just For Fun. Here are a couple of my favorite projects in the book:

The Decorated Keyboard. This is way too much fun. Though my MacBook Pro has dark keys, this will still work great on my desktop computer’s keyboard. It could happen! This project comes complete with a chart for reproducing this for yourself. Imagine the possibilities of cross-stitching with washi tape, whether the rose design featured or one of your own favorites.Cathe-Holden-Washi-Tape-Crafts-Review-02Ooooh and lookie here…. my Washi Brooch Bouquet!Cathe-Holden-Washi-Tape-Crafts-BroochI’ve been crafting and instructing these washi tape 3D flowers for a couple years now and still really enjoy crafting them for decor and wear. You can still access my original Washi Tape Flowers instructions.Cathe-Holden-Washi-Tape-Crafts-FlowersWhat is your favorite washi tape project to date? Snag up Amy’s book, Washi Tape Crafts, to discover many new ideas, more than you could have ever imagined.
