HGTV Dream Home 2014 Tour and Delta® Touch2o Technology and Giveaway

I recently had the great privilege of touring the 2014 HGTV Dream Home near Lake Tahoe, California, along with three other creative bloggers, as the invited guests of Delta Faucet who covered all of my expenses to attend the press day event, including travel, and accommodations at the extraordinary Ritz-Carlton. We learned at breakfast the day of the event that we were the very first bloggers ever on the press day tour- the big reveal day of every HGTV Dream Home. We were pinching ourselves! HUGE thank you to Delta Faucet and the Scripps Networks team!JSIM-HGTV-Delta-Faucet-Logo The snow began to come down in the early morning hours of the tour day and was getting quite heavy by the time we arrived- we thought that was just perfect for effect, though it limited our outdoor photography a bit.Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_01 My new blog friends are Ashley Urke of Domestic Fashionista, Jeanne Chan of Shop Sweet Things, and Heidi Kundin of Happiness Is Homemade. We had the best time together!Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_17I took so many photos and want to share a few of my favorite features and areas of the home. The very first being the enormous foyer connecting the larger gathering area of the home to the private rooms. So perfect for coming in from the snow or lake and shaking off the moisture before settling in.Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_05 Coming in through the front door, you look directly out the back glass doors at the patio and incredible property view.Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_15Into the kitchen, dining, and living area, you can’t help but be excited by the punch of color, spaciousness and warmth.Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_16Linda Woodrum, Lead Interior Designer (below), said when conceptualizing they considered what one color would you never expect to see in a Tahoe home in the mountains…Yellow! And so they had their decorating challenge. Beautifully done, Linda, it was like warm sunshine inside a snow covered cabin.Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_02The nearly 6-foot long granite island divides the dining area from the living area. One entire section of wall and backsplash in the kitchen around the sink area was covered in the most spectacular mosaic tile fashioned from antique boat wood. The shiny Delta Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet Featuring Touch2O® Technology, in a beautiful modern European design accented the room in perfect surface contrast.Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_14Into the living room, more yellow with beautiful greys and hints of persimmon. Over the fireplace is a cross-cut slice of ponderosa pine, mounted into a wooden box. Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_03Out onto the beautiful back patio the s’more station awaits!Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_04 In the first floor hallway there’s a powder room with a antiqued brass vessel sink and Compel Delta faucet. Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_06There is more unique coloring to be found in the master bedroom. What a lovely play on traditional textile patterns accented with more modern geometrics. Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_13Into the spacious adjoining master bath there is a contemporary-styled Arzo Two Handle Widespread Lavatory Faucet over the sink, and a faucet I never even knew existed over the tub- the Delta Floor Mount Tub Filler. Sign me up for that bubble bath!Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_08In the upstairs guest room there is more persimmon-orange, golden yellow, and woolen grey with touches of brown. The decorating took my breath away at times.Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_09The adjoining bathroom has a bit more feminine Victorian-style Cassidy Delta Faucet. Just right.

There are more many features, rooms and Delta Faucet products to be seen and you can find them in the photo gallery at HGTV.com. While you’re there, read the sweepstakes entry information for a chance to WIN the 2014 HGTV Dream Home!

Cathe_Holden_Delta_Faucet_HGTV_10It was a great pleasure to meet the incredible dream team behind the HGTV Dream Home: Linda Woodrum, Lead Interior Designer, David Bourk, House Architect with Ward-Youn Architecture, Jack Thomasson, HGTV House Planner, and John Marlin, of Marlin Atlantis Group- the developer and owner of Schaffer’s Mill Golf and Lake Club where the home is located.

WOW! I love the modern mixed with vintage/upcycled/vintage just stunning. The HGTV Dream Homes are always so beautiful, I’m never disappointed. This being another California home has me wishing like crazy they’ll pick my name.
Thank you Cathe for braving the snow to bring us this glimpse of such a neat experience. I think if I were to win a faucet, I would choose any of the touch technology faucets – that just seems like the coolest option for a kitchen! Maybe this one? http://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/details/4353t-sssd-dst.html

  2. #2 - Donna M. says:

You lucky duck! I bet you were pinching yourself going through the tour! The place is beautiful and those pops of yellow color are truly inspirational. We love our Pilar Single Handle kitchen faucet that we installed in our dream kitchen three years ago. It is so handy to have that touch technology built it. I would love to win the Addison Single Handle pull-down kitchen faucet for my laundry room sink. I could sure use it in there!

  3. #3 - Becky Garrison says:

What an honor you were given! I really loved the house, especially the touches of yellow to mimic the sunshine, and the natural elements such as the crosscut of the tree … very pretty! If I won, I would love to have the Cassidy Delta® Touch2O Technology Faucet … it would go wonderfully in our kitchen, and we desperately need a new faucet in there! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! Becky G.

  4. #4 - Lori O says:

Thank you for taking us on the tour of such a beautiful home. I am inspired by the colors and patterns, as I am always “safe” with my decorating and would love to be more bold. If I won I would choose the Delta Touch 20 as I love the sleek design, plus the concept of touch. Not to mention I’ve been doing some shopping for a new kitchen faucet, and this would look lovely! Thanks again!

  5. #5 - coasterkim says:

That is so cool you were able to tour the house! I enter daily every year.

  6. #6 - Terri says:

That is one gorgeous home, and on Lake Tahoe too! Wow. I loved the Maine HGTV Dream Home too… well, to be honest, I love them all. I would love to be the lucky winner – I would have to keep pinching myself because I would never be able to believe it had happened to me!

I love the Delta Faucets and have been looking at them recently since we are going to do a kitchen remodel soon. I’m pretty sure I’m in love with the Pilar Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Touch2O® Technology and Soap Dispenser, but again, I don’t think I could go wrong with any of the Touch 20 faucets.

  7. #7 - Suzanne says:

That Lewiston stainless faucet is capital g Gorgeous! I’d love to ave it to replace my old one. In the Dream Home, I love the brass vessel sink – wowzers!

  8. #8 - Kate Boice says:

How exciting that you were able to tour the Dream Home! Thank you so much for bringing us so many photos and memories of the big day in this post! I love the HGTV Dream Homes in general, but this one specifically stands out because of the clever mixing of cool gray tones with warm tangerines and yellows. I think my favorite part of this house is the foyer…gotta love that corrugated metal accent wall!

I’ve been looking at the Delta Touch 2 O products for quite some time wanting to replace my kitchen faucet. I’d love to have any of them, but by far my favorite is the Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet in Arctic Stainless.

Thank you again for the post, the photos and insight, and this giveaway!

  9. #9 - Laurie says:

I love that cassidy single handle faucet. I like less to clean and the ease of one handle but I’ve never seem a pretty one for a bathroom before!

  12. #12 - Beth K says:

The Dream house is gorgeous! My favorite Delta faucet is the Cassidy and any of the Touch20 faucets. Thanks for the giveaway!

I loved all the Delta faucets used throughout the Dream Home. I would love to have the shiny Delta Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet Featuring Touch2O® Technology for my kitchen.

The Dream Home is beautiful and the location is unbelievable.
Looks like you had a fantastic time. And thanks to you we got to feel like we were there too! Great pictures.

  18. #18 - martina says:

I thought the slice of log that was framed on a wall was very creative and clever. The Trinsic faucet for the kitchen is beautiful and would be so much better than my 25 year old basic kitchen faucet!!!!

  19. #19 - Nicole Vosburgh says:

What an amazing opportunity that you had it! This dream home is gorgeous, like all of the ones that they giveaway! Maybe one of these years I’ll be the lucky one :) Thank you for the giveaway!

  20. #20 - Vicky K says:

Boy, could I use a new kitchen faucet. The touch technology would be my choice. Loved the decorating in the dream home, wish I had that talent.

  21. #21 - Karen on Bainbridge Island, WA says:

Every year we so look forward to the reveal of the HGTV dream home and what a treat it is to get a sneak peek! Looks beautiful, but then all of them are. This year I’m sure I’ll win!

What a blast! Thanks for sharing a great weekend! Great house! Very well done. Very inspiring. I’d love the delta 9197T-DST-SB from the cassidy collection with a venetian bronze finish. It would look perfect in my kitchen!

  24. #24 - krista says:

I want that house! If I don’t win, I’ll settle for the kitchen sink from the Cassidy collection, the delta 9197T-DST-SD in the bronze venetian finish. John is correct, it would look perfect in my kitchen!

  25. #25 - Wendy Orme says:

WOW…this home is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for a chance to win this Delta faucet.

  26. #26 - Patricia Schmidt says:

The Delta Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down is my dream faucet! I always wished for one! My present faucet is 26 years old and even though I have new counters, I’appear to be stuck with the “vintage” faucet from the 80’s. The house is absolutely beautiful with a mix of contemporary and vintage……..something for everyone. I’ve been married 60 years to a man who does not replace household items until they are….should I say DONE? Let me know when I win, ok?

  27. #27 - bonnie says:

You are one lucky lady! I also love that touch of color-mmmm that yellow chair is dreamy. I have to admit-who would have guessed that a faucet could make such a difference in a design! I think a new Delta faucet would be a good change in my kitchen!!

  28. #28 - Diane McMullen says:

The HGTV home is the perfect blend of new technology(Delta hands free faucets!!) and reclaimed décor (love the reclaimed boat wood tile wall!).
I appreciate the careful editing by the stylists, creating a warm coziness of a home, but retaining the spaciousness of the grand design. We are renovating a loft space in a 1923 granite bank in North Carolina and would love the Cassidy faucet in bronze to complete our kitchen! I just recently found your blog and consider it of great quality .You have a good eye! Thank you.

  29. #29 - Jessica Nick says:

WOW! I LOVE that slice of tree over the fireplace, and the Orange/Persimmon and Brown color scheme in the bedroom/bath!! What fun! I have wanted a touch faucet in my kitchen for a LONG time, how cool to have icky meaty hands and not have to contaminate everything!!

  30. #30 - Yvonnebeyer says:

Such a beautiful open layout. I love lots of natural light which all the windows allow. And I am ready to switch to some of the chosen relaxing colors in this home. My second bath needs new sink fixtures and Delta would fit the bill. Many thanks for the chance to win a spectacular product.

  31. #31 - janet johnson says:

What a great house — so much light and space. Love, love, love the Delta Touch 20 faucet.

  32. #32 - Diana Boersen says:

I love the fabric on the chairs by the fireplace, I’ve been looking for something with yellow and gray for my bedroom, but hadn’t thought of plaid until I saw this, so thanks for sharing. I could really use a new faucet for my bathroom, something traditional like the Leland.

  33. #33 - Paula says:

I LOVE the new HGTV home!! I LOVE the yellow & persimmon accents!!! My very favorite DELTA faucet is the FLOOR MOUNT TUB FILLER!!!! Awesome:)

  34. #34 - Jen B. says:

Those faucets look great, I’d love either of the bronze finishes in my house!

  35. #35 - Kristen says:

OMG the HGTV Dream house is just beautiful!! I would choose the Linden Single Handle Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet if I won!!

The Dream Homes always get my creative juices flowing. There are so many great ideas you can use in your own home! Not everyone can win but just using a few of Linda’s design ideas and you’ve got yourself an upgrade. :0)
Let’s start with a new faucet. Then go from there!

The home is gorgeous. Love the sink basin in the 1/2 bath. The faucets/finishes are nice choices from oldfashioned to sleek/modern. The log wall hanging. awesome. Decorators did a fantastic job w/colors/choices of furnishings. I would add a sitting bench /coat rack in the front walk-in /foyer area.
