Conference of Creative Entrepreneurs Full Pass Giveaway!!

I am SO excited to have the opportunity to offer one lucky super-creative JSIM reader a FULL CONFERENCE PASS to Conference of Creative Entrepreneurs in gorgeous San Francisco, August 5 through 7, 2011!

CCE is a three-day conference where creative professionals gather to:
- Be educated by the leaders of the creative professional community.
- Network with business owners, service providers and creative industries.
- Share goals and find collaborators in the creative community.

“CCE provides creatives with a comprehensive business education in just one weekend. It can take years of general small business workshops to gather enough useful information, so we started CCE in order to provide our fellow artists, designers, and crafters with everything they need in one place.  It’s the conference I REALLY could have used when I was first starting out.  All of the sessions are specifically designed for creatives, and led by generous speakers who are happy to share how they have succeeded.”
-Lauren Venell, CCE Co-Chair/Programming Director

CCE attendees will hear speakers and see demonstrations from educators who are renowned within the creative small business community. CCE is also an amazing opportunity to network and build friendships with other small business creative professionals. I will be speaking on “Blogging According to Cathe”. I will share techniques and tips I’ve discovered and honed through my years of craft blogging in an informal Q&A.

The event will be take place at the San Francisco Women’s Building. The conference schedule is so exciting- I just hope I can take notes fast enough. There are many sessions I’m especially interested in: Your First Book Deal, Monetizing Your Blog, The Art of Publicity, A Day in the Life-Pattern & Surface Design, Lisa Congdon, Seeking Representation- How and When to Get an Agent, Making the Most out of Licensing, The Brand of You….and those are just to name a few! Everyone will walk away from this weekend so motivated and armed for greater success. What a fabulous giveaway. There are so many good options to choose from that it is hard to pick just one. But I will choose “A day in the Life: Pattern & Surface Design” with Christiana Coop and Shayna Kulik. This would be a great conference to be able to attend. Plus San Francisco is always fun!

  3. #3 - Dorothy Reinhardt says:

I would like to attend the “Getting More Done” seminar.

I’m most interested in the “Taking it to the next level” class. I have my etsy store all set up and there have been a reassuring number of sales but now what? Do I just keep plugging along? Are there other things I should be doing? I’m just not sure.

Plus, I’m excited to find out that the conference is at the Women’s Building. The mural is even more impressive in person.

  5. #5 - Kayla says:

wow – so many great sessions to choose from – I love The Work of Art and the panel on Taking it to the next level… So many great things I need to learn right now! Thanks for sharing this!

I’ve just become unemployed so building back a small online business is really a necessity. I would like to learn about bookkeeping in a small business, and building a successful online shop. I live in the SF Bay Area so getting there would not be a problem.

I think I would need to clone myself because I would love to check out the three sessions that are occurring between 4-5pm on the first day! Also, the Fine Artist Alternatives sounds really enlightening, and totally an area I’m hoping to move into so I need all the advice I can get. Thank you so much for offering the giveaway, discount, and the info on this great conference!

  10. #10 - Ruth C says:

I am most interested in the “Getting Started on Etsy” on Day 1, but the entire conference looks great!

  11. #11 - Monica says:

What an opportunity! As a fresh beginner in getting my artwork out to “the public” this would be so educational. I am interested in so many of the speakers and topics. Some that sound particularly exciting are: “A Day in the Life: Illustration”, “Your Tax Questions Answered”, are “Off the Wall: Fine Artists’ Alternatives to the Gallery “. Difficult to limit the list!

  18. #18 - Diane@InMyOwnStyle says:

I would love to attend this even if I gotta fly across the country. I would have a hard time choosing which session I would not want to miss – it is a tough choice. I would like the Do’s and Don’t of Product photography session. The best part of winning this would be meeting you in “real live” person.
    My best- Diane

  25. #25 - Victoria Ramos says:

Besides “A Day In the Life – Blogging” (and meeting you of course!) I would certainly need: “Getting More Done”. Actually they all sound so very interesting. I have been contemplating starting my own blog and website for the past year….and I think this event would be just what I needed to ‘get ur done!’. Great giveaway Cathe!

  26. #26 - Valerie says:

DIY and On-Demand Manufacturing would be super helpful to me at this phase of my product development.

    Thanks for the chance!

  27. #27 - David says:

Wow! That would be one heck of a weekend!
I think if I were being wise (and honest), Ted Hilliard’s Bookeeping session would be a must (man a suck at that stuff). I’m just starting off on blogging and Monitizing it would be, um, wise and I haven’t a clue how to do it. And Grace Dobush’s advice on pricing would be invaluable. Hmm, I sound like I’m all about money. That’s not good. And if someone really could demystify SEOs I would be forever grateful.
Thanks for the opportunity Cathe – it sounds amazing!

  28. #28 - Krista says:

I think I’d be racing to catch them all. I’d want a front row spot for
A Day in the Life: Pattern and Surface Design with Christiana Coop and Shayna Kulik

    Sure would be inspiring!

  29. #29 - Monica N says:

Oh my goodness, I don’t know how I missed hearing about this event! But oh I want to go now! I’d love to hear about The Brand of You! and Product Development for Creative Professionals.

  31. #31 - Amy N. says:

I’m excited about Christina Amini as a speaker and the session titled “getting started on Etsy.” I think I’m more excited about that session. I’ve wanted to start an Etsy for over a year now, but I still have a few questions before I want to start it.

  32. #32 - Andrea says:

What a great lineup! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Lainya Magana speak! I am looking to further my career as an independent curator and find it so tough to find advice in that field. Well done on collecting such fantastic speakers!

  33. #33 - gerri herbst says:

    Thank you , Wendy Halverson

  35. #35 - Carolyn Vallelunga says:

I would be soooooo willing to make the trip for the conference! I think it was no accident that we met at Alameda on Sunday. The “Getting More Done” course would answer that age old question I ask nearly every day! Also “Seeking Representation” is another question I need answering. Okay, who am I kidding? I need all these learning opportunities! My business would truly benefit from this conference. I think (on a cosmic level) I am ready to move forward and make my life’s work a profitable venture. My soul is happy, but I would like my bank account to be happy as well!

  36. #36 - Zakka Life says:

I want to see Freelancing Success with Meg Metoe Ilasco just to name one. It would be nice to meet you too. :)

  37. #37 - Kai says:

So many wonderful and informative-looking sessions to choose from. Having just launched my online shop last week, I’m particularly interested in “Building a Successful Online Shop” to find ways to improve it.

Hope I can make it to one or all of the days.

  38. #38 - Krista Gorrell says:

I would have to go with Small business bookkeeping. As I am totally clueless still after 4 years on business

  39. #39 - jennifer June says:

Maybe I need an agent? …Is doing etsy “right” hard? Can’t wait to find out. Hope you pick me. Yay.

  40. #40 - Charyle Calvert says:

*comes racing in near the finish of the contest, hoping for that one chance in a million for the golden ticket found in the JSIM candy bar*

I think the conference is going to be most excellent. I am interested in many of the panels. Your First Book Deal can provide me valuable insight to my recent journey into fiction writing.

Others dealing with Publicity, blogs, pricing and creative collaboration could also provide a lot of help in my new business venture. I also don’t want to miss The Work of Art, Off The Wall and Passion as Marketing.

I thought the entire line up was diverse and interesting. With only three days, too bad I had to pick and choose! But then, there will be others.

Thanks for your wonderful space here and all the good resources you provide. No wonder you are as successful as you are . I can see your passion running through everything you do!

*places her ballot in the electronic box*
    Here’s hoping I’m the winner!
    Peace,
    Char

  41. #41 - Patti Herbert says:

I am interested particularly in Taking It to the Next level. I have run a small antiques business for years and began making and selling jewelry two years ago. I am looking to develop a brand and get some help with the manufacturing. Thanks!

  42. #42 - Michelle Maki says:

“Getting More Done”!! I HAVE to be there when they spill that secret! Also, “Building a Successful Online Shop”. OOOOH, PICK ME!

  43. #43 - Dyn says:

So many great choices! The Art of Publicity and Taking it to the Next Level would both be SUPER HELPFUL. I’m ready to take it to the next level.
