Jeff was out in the yard this afternoon and discovered a beautiful nest of eggs in the boxwood shrubs. He came to my studio window and told me to grab my camera. With mother bird on watch on a nearby branch, I shot a sweet photo of her babies-to-be.
To honor the mother bird and by not disturbing her eggs, I took another photo with the nest as a backdrop of my new Lisa Leonard Sweet & Simple Birdie necklace that I received just today.
How special is that?!
UPDATE: 3 DAYS LATER! They hatched! How awesome is God!!

Natural beauty and a lovely necklace.
I have gotten to photograph 2 bird nests this summer and then also take pictures of the babies when they were born. Love your new necklace. Love & blessings from NC!
Oh my! That is the nest of a master builder. How perfect it looks, and how beautiful those eggs are. I hope the mama and her nestlings enjoy their stay. (I'm sure she would be happy if you put some mealworm out for her so she doesn't have to work so hard for her food!)
Isn't it just perfect? Wishing the best for motherbird and the babies.

Hi! Just found your blog via WhipUp and LOVE IT! What a fun place to visit. I've added you to my favorites on my blog and will be back often, I cannot believe I've just spent over 2 hours just roaming the older posts on your site. Thanks for all the great downloads and SO MUCH INSPIRATION!!!!!
Isn't it a little late for new baby birds? Even in California?
Mountain Thyme-
Well, I really know nothing about the life cycle of birds, but I always thought of eggs and babies in the Spring was par for the course. Apparently not! Who knew?
When I see sights like this I am awed that God, the creator of the universe, not only cares for these little babies, but knows the number of every feather on their little bodies. How intricately and wonderfully made! Big bang? I don't think so.
I have just stumbled upon your blog, which I'm loving the craft ideas and tips. But I did just want to say these baby birds for some reason just made me really happy!
