Happy 4th of July

We are so thankful to be citizens of this great country. Jeff and I also very proud to be the children of men who served with honor. So last summer when we were presented with the opportunity to send our son, Bennett, to Washington DC on his 8th grade promotion trip, we saved up all year to make it happen.

Here are just a few of the images from the trip last month to our nation’s capitol as seen through the eyes of a 14 year old.

Photos by Bennett Holden 2009

We wish you a fun and safe 4th of July. And to those who have served our country and to those currently serving- THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your sacrifices on our family’s and our country’s behalf.

Very observant and mature pics for a 14 year-old. This reflects well on you as parents…you've given him a true understanding of the importance of such a trip. I know you're proud!

    Happy Independence Day!!

Wasn't the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier just about the most solemn non-church spot you've ever been? Our last home was about 10 miles from DC, so we spent a lot of time there. Glad you got to go!

Great tribute to the honor of your family and to others. I wish that every citizen could tour Washington, DC. I could go there many times and still not see all of the history.
